I’m a sticker Fiend…and I’m unashamed
If there is one thing that I do well, is that I collect stickers. Everywhere I go, every coffee shop I visit, every airport I grab a bottle of water in, you’re likely to find me getting a sticker. I started simple, with my Pelican cases on my camera gear, but it quickly grew into an unstoppable addiction, and the fact that college kids love filling their laptops full of stickers meant that I was in! I’ll admit it, I love collecting stickers and I have amassed such a collection that I have an entire accordion file full! But then I realized something…..
I love them because they are windows for me. Windows to memories, experiences, friendships that after this year, and little statements about who I am, and who I want to be. Take a look at my monitor(which just broke and i’m sad about!)

Yeah, some of these are my socials, and have nothing to do with anything, but there is a sticker here for the following:
- The best college town in the world, and potential future home of my parents, as well as a large chunk of my heart.
- A reminder I got from a brand new 2025 city to keep plugging on, to make sure I do better at life and that I keep ‘writing on’
- A visit to a coffee shop for cold brew after a good morning of exercise during a traumatic trip for the one too many funerals I had to expeience for a good 12 months in 2025.
- I reminder of a super fun trip I had with my youngest son and the memories that brought, including me winning father of the year.
- A gift given to me by a friend who I asked to try, and they did.
- A visit to the coolest museum in the world where I got to see an SR-71 and and F-22 so close I could touch it.
- And finally a reminder that no matter how old I get, I can still relive my childish love of video games that I have since I was little.
So, while it may have started trivial and for some it might still be….. every time I take my portable monitor out of my sleeve, it’s like reliving those memories all over again. It’s a reminder during the good times of why life is so good, and during the harder times of how good life will be again.
So yeah, I’m gonna be a sticker fiend. I’m not sorry and I’m not gonna change. Feel free to get me one on my birthday and holidays!
