What are 5 creative Hobbies I haven’t tried?
This one is from my journal prompt book that I purchased a little while back…and I found this one pretty interesting. I have a lot of hobbies, and I mean A LOT. Probably too many, but even with all the hobbies I have, I still have 5 creative hobbies that I can look at that I never tried, but I wish I did….
1. I never leaned into playing an instrument
One creative hobby that I wished I had done when I was younger, is that I never learned how to properly play and master an instrument. I think if I had two that I would like, it would have been the piano and alto saxophone. I love the sounds these instruments make, and I would have loved to have been good at it!
2. modeling
No, not the modeling that I work on with my photography hustle…because my milkshake definitely brings all the boys to the yard, but I never got into model building! I love looking at models, planes, cars, trains, all the kinds of models, but I think the modeling I’d love to do, is model rocketry. I think I got hooked by watching Dude Perfect do their multiple rocket challenges, and it was so much fun. Maybe I’ll find a friend that will let me fire one off!
3. Drawing/Sculpting/Painting
I’ve always been fascinating to watch those that can take a blank canvas and make something beautiful out it, and I have always been impressed with the ability of sculptors to take lumps of clay or strands of metal, and make these beautiful creations. I really want to do one of those painting with a Twist or something like it, and I hope I get to at some point!
4. Woodworking
While this one is number 4 of the creative hobbies I’ve never tried, I think it’s the one that I feel I missed out the most on! I struggle to do home projects because of this, and I really wish I get an opportunity to fix this one! Bucket list is to make an epoxy table like Blacktail Studio!
5. calligraphy
I have always apprecaited good penmanship, and the people that can create signatures, and do this amazing work with a pen just amazes me. It’s so daunting but I am hoping to try this one day.
My Takeaway
This list of creative hobbies I haven’t tried…was good list for me to make, as it made me realize that there are a lot of things I haven’t tried, but it was also a good reminder of the hobbies I am pretty blessed to be pretty good at. I can photograph pretty well, fly a drone, I can coo…try to cook, I love to read, and while I am not good in front of a camera, I am pretty good at being behind one on a broadcast. All in all, it made me thankful for what I do have and excited for the future.
